Uploaded new stuff...I think I may have put one or two in the wrong galleries...trying to check now but since I'm on my phone it may take awhile. If you see one, feel free to note me so I can try to fix it...the galleries still confuse me ^^;

Also, I'm in a bit of a jam...see there's this cat whose been trying to adopt us and the day before yesterday he limps down our driveway all bloody and scratched up. I took him to the vet yesterday and found out he had a severely broken arm. So severe that it was amputated today because of where the break occurred (on his femur, close to his shoulder) and all the floating bits of bone 'n stuff. So...this is costing me & my family about $600 (some birthday present that is :|, yay for my new 3-legged cat x.x). I barely have gas money...if anybody is interested in those bookmark thingys I have in my gallery (here [link] & here [link]), send me a note. They're easy to make and I have plenty of scrap cardstock...lamination is cheap, macramé easy...and I have some sculpey lying around if you want matching charms...or tassels...

Hope you all have happy holidays (I was told the kitty is doing fine...I might be able to take him home tomorrow...).

We were already talking about adopting him before he got hurt. When I called the vet yesterday to check up on him, they told me he was still a little drowsy, but he was already sitting up and meowing for someone to scratch his head. These expenses are coming at a time between checks but my dad felt that it's worth the trouble. That cat has the will of a bullet train to live, and I can't help but respect that. And I can't wait to take him home, he's like the sweetest, most forgiving cat I've ever met.

And thanks, hearing someone else say I did the nice option comforts me ( like I said, I don't know if I'd have been able to handle putting him to sleep...and if I had $2000 they might have been able to plate the bones together, but then the recovery would've taken longer because of the amount of bone he'd have to regrow, and then there still would've been a chance he would still need an amputation...)

Animals who are that resilient often never even realize the limb is gone. I saw an alpha wolf in a discovery special who had to have a leg amputated from bone cancer and she went right back to asserting her authority. I've seen animals pull through no shortage of amazing things, there was an article I saw about a dog who'd gotten both hindlimbs ruined by being hit by a car that learned to walk on only it's forelegs, it kept it's rump balanced in the air.

Today I was watching, making sure the cat didn't miss the litterbox, and I saw he was trying to bury his gifts with his missing paw. He tried about three times before looking at me with look that said, "Uh, why didn't that work?" And earlier today I nearly suffered heart failure b/c he was climbing in places that required four-paws for balance and was sliding everywhere. I'm beginning to think he doesn't even realize he's missing a limb.

They generally don't. It might take a few falls for him to find it out, but don't worry too much. He'll learn to compensate. I actually think that's a very good sign that the cat is on his way to a full recovery, because the most important thing in an animal learning to recuperate from an injury is just it's spirit to continue living. It takes spunk to live, and it sounds like your cat has that on his side.
